Ask Dr. Craig a Question

CO2RE Fractional Laser Resurfacing

As we age, our collagen begins to diminish.  Gravity, diet, and other environmental factors can influence collagen production and skin laxity.  That means over time, wrinkles, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone will appear.  Additionally, acne and trauma scars can make it difficult to achieve a picture-perfect complexion.  The CO2RE Fractional Laser addresses these issues by targeting the skin’s top, middle, and bottom layers for rejuvenation.

The Technology

Dr. Craig uses Syneron Candela CO2RE technology to deliver exceptional fractional resurfacing results.  The CO2RE uses intense pulses of light to create micro-channels within the dermis, which triggers the body’s wound-healing processes.  This means collagen levels will increase, resulting in faster cellular turnover.  As the CO2RE laser is a fractional laser, this means that there are patches of skin left untouched.  This promotes faster healing.

CO2RE technology also heats the bottom layer of the dermis to trigger a tightening effect, which is excellent for treating sagging skin.  As a result, the CO2RE laser is a great treatment option for wrinkles, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, loss of skin laxity, and more.

Fractional laser resurfacing is a safe and effective treatment for almost every skin type.  CO2RE technology can be used on almost any body area, although it’s most commonly used on the face.  The procedure takes less than 30 minutes, depending on the area being treated.

Most patients will feel a gentle warming sensation, followed by a sharp tightening of the skin.

The Recovery

After the procedure, you’ll look like you have a mild sunburn.  It’s recommended that you stay indoors for a few days and apply a topical ointment to help with the healing process.  You should be able to return to normal activities after two to three days.
