What To Expect After Your Procedure

The good news is that you’ll recover pretty quickly overall from your facelift procedure. While the results you want may take a little bit more time, the recovery is faster, and you’ll be able to return to your life rather quickly compared to other procedures. An actual time frame, however, is hard to pinpoint. The most important thing to do is to follow your surgeon’s instructions for aftercare. This will ensure the speediest and most effective recovery possible.

Facelift Recovery: Week One

The name of the game in the first week is incision care. To minimize scarring, taking care of your incisions is incredibly important. You can do this by keeping the areas clean to prevent infection. On the first day after the procedure, you may feel unsteady and a little tired, so it’s important to have someone around to help you while you lay low.

The following day, your surgeon will probably schedule a follow-up appointment. It may be a good idea to have a person around to give you a ride. If everything looks good during this appointment, your wounds will be cleaned and redressed, leaving you free to continue your downtime for the next few days.

Facelift Consultations Available

Facelift Recovery: Week Two

Around the start of week two, you can begin moving around a little more. While bruising and swelling may continue (sometimes resulting in tightness, tingling, and numbness), this is normal and shouldn’t be a cause of concern. At the end of the week, it may be okay for you to return to work, depending on your profession. Normal activities, like walking, may be resumed on your surgeon’s recommendation.

Full Face Recovery

As for the following weeks, you may see a full recovery. While you may not see results right away, you will begin to see them over the course of time as your body adjusts and heals. During these weeks, you’ll begin to feel a lot better and a lot more energetic. You can begin to exercise around weeks 3 and 4 but consult your surgeon first. Your face will experience minimal swelling and will be far less noticeable around this time.
