Lumecca

Those years of fun in the sun begin to take their toll as our skin naturally begins to produce less collagen and elastin. The result comes in the form of age spots, rosacea, freckles, and uneven skin tone. Lumecca is the most powerful treatment option for pigmented or vascular lesions associated with sun damage. The advanced IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Photofacial is quick, easy, and requires zero downtime.

The Technology

Lumecca gently applies photo-thermolysis thermal energy to the layers where pigmentation issues arise. Treatments also stimulate additional collagen production to temporarily improve the skin’s health. Lumecca is a non-invasive treatment that leaves surrounding tissue unharmed.

The treatment is performed as an in-office procedure allowing you to quickly get back to your normal routine. The procedure only takes about 60-minutes. Most patients tolerate the treatment quite well and report minimal discomfort.

Lumecca is safe and effective for most areas of the face and body. The most common treatment areas include those that have been exposed to UV-rays over the years such as the face, neck, hands, and décolleté (chest).

The Recovery

Lumecca is a no-downtime procedure. Head back to most of your day-to-day activities without restriction. In the days following treatment, pigmented lesions will darken and roughen in texture (a sign that the treatment is working). Several days post-treatment, the lesions will either flake off or naturally absorb into the body.

Sunscreen (SPF 30+) and protective clothing are encouraged throughout treatment to ensure an optimal outcome.

The Results

Initial results can be seen several days after your Lumecca treatment session. Pigmentation issues will be less visible, and skin will appear clearer. One to two weeks post-treatment skin will start to look and feel smoother to the touch. Collagen enhancement can last several months with Lumecca.

While you may see some results with just 1 treatment, most patients need a series of 3-5 sessions for an optimal outcome. We normally perform a series of three. Your skincare specialist will help customize a treatment plan to get you the results you want with minimal downtime.
