Learn More About Brachioplasty/Arm Lift

An arm lift, or brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the upper arms. Dr. Craig employs precise techniques to sculpt your desired contours following significant weight loss, pregnancy, or age-related volume loss. During your consultation, he will discuss your concerns, evaluate your needs, and create a customized treatment plan, guiding you through every aspect of the procedure.

You may be a good candidate for an arm lift if you are concerned about stubborn fat deposits or loose, sagging skin on your upper arms. Non-smokers in good overall health generally have the best outcomes from surgical procedures.

An arm lift typically takes about one to two hours, depending on the complexity of the procedure. It is performed under general anesthesia for your comfort. In some cases, Dr. Craig may recommend using BodyTite alone or alongside the arm lift to eliminate excess fat. After making the incisions, Dr. Craig will gently remove fat pads and excess skin, resulting in tighter, more contoured arms.

Initial results will be visible immediately following treatment. Gradual improvement will continue to occur as post-surgical swelling and bruising dissipate. Final results from arm lift surgery can take upwards of 6 months.

An arm lift is a surgical procedure that requires adequate recovery time. It is performed on an outpatient basis, allowing you to go home the same day. Side effects are usually most pronounced 24-48 hours post-op, and pain medication will be prescribed to help manage discomfort.

Most patients can resume non-strenuous activities with minimal restrictions within 7-10 days. It’s important to avoid straining, bending, lifting, and any activities that put pressure on your incisions during recovery. Scars may remain pink for a few months but will gradually fade over time. Dr. Craig will provide a personalized post-op recovery and scar management plan tailored to your needs.
