Benefits of Nectifirm® and Nectifirm® ADVANCED

Aging doesn’t just happen to one area of our body at a time. So, why aren’t there more products designed to treat specific areas? While there are many creams, serums, and lotions aimed at providing total skin rejuvenation on the face, the neck often gets forgotten. The skin on our neck and décolletage is thinner and more susceptible to gravity’s daily pull than the skin on our face making these products less effective. Enter Nectifirm®.

The specialized formula is comprised of eight unique active ingredients that work synergistically to smooth, hydrate, and firm the neck and décolletage. Nectifirm® Can:

  • Address mild to moderate signs of aging.
  • Tame fine lines and wrinkles.

  • Reduce the appearance of rough or crepey skin.

Nectifirm® ADVANCED

Over time, patients can reverse visible signs of aging such as fine lines, wrinkles, and skin laxity. Nectifirm® ADVANCED uses a microbiome of eight distinctive peptides and smart antioxidant technology to brighten, firm, and lift for a more youthful appearance.

Nectifirm® ADVANCED Can:

  • Correct moderate to advanced complexion issues.
  • Restore optimal skin health.
  • Sooth bothersome lines and wrinkles.
  • Enhance skin’s antioxidant levels for even tone & texture.

Is Nectifirm® Right for You?

Medical-grade Nectifirm® treatments can be beneficial to anyone who is bothered by the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, or overall texture of their neck. What’s the Best Chemical Peel to Make My Skin Look Younger?

Want the kind of clear and glowing skin that will have you ready for your next selfie?

Then it’s time to discover chemical peels at Accent Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Tupelo, Mississippi!

Founded by board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Mark Craig, Accent Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery is the premier destination for women and men who want magazine-worthy skin. A chemical peel is an excellent solution for getting skin that glows, as it can minimize (or even eliminate) the appearance of:

  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Wrinkles and fine lines
  • Acne and trauma scars
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Uneven skin texture
  • And more

If you want to get rid of the above skin problems – while revealing your youngest skin ever – the best chemical peel for your skin could be The Perfect Derma Peel. This chemical peel is different from other peels in that it’s virtually painless, and requires no pre-peel preparation.

That means no painful burning or scabbing commonly associated with other peels – just fresh, beautiful-looking skin.

What makes the Perfect Derma Peel so powerful is that it contains TCA and salicylic acid, which help remove the top layer of the dermis without causing excessive irritation or injury. Additionally, this peel is the only one to contain Glutathione, a powerful antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals from constant environmental exposure and damage.

The antioxidant is also known for slowing down the aging process, making it a great choice for patients who want younger-looking skin without the excessive recovery time of traditional chemical peels.

The Perfect Derma Peel isn’t as irritating as other chemical peels. A nice result can be achieved with one peel, but a series is recommended for best results. Dr. Craig can help you determine how many peel procedures you’ll need to see smoother, younger-looking skin.

Schedule your peel today with one of our two licensed aestheticians.

Why a Dermal Filler Certification Matters:

These days, it seems as though you can undergo a dermal filler treatment from anyone who offers them.  Medical spas, aesthetic centers, and even hair salons are getting into the dermal filler game by offering their clients the promise of facial rejuvenation with just a quick treatment session.

But before you make an appointment with one of these practices, consider this – if you undergo a dermal filler treatment from a professional without certification, you’re putting yourself at serious risk.

A dermal filler certification shows that a medical professional has gone through rigorous training in order to produce the best results possible.  After all, dermal fillers aren’t just injections; when performed correctly, they can subtly enhance a person’s facial features, add youthful volume, and even facial imbalances that might otherwise need surgery to correct.  That’s why it’s so important to work with a professional who knows precisely where to place dermal filler injections for the best results.

At Accent Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Tupelo, MS, board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Mark Craig is a highly trained dermal filler expert.  Dr. Craig approaches dermal fillers with the same care and attention as he would a client undergoing a major surgery.  His ultimate goal is to listen to each patient and discuss how dermal fillers can address their specific needs.

Dr. Craig has grown Accent Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery into one of the top providers of dermal filler injections in the state of Mississippi.  Dr. Craig is so experienced with fillers that he has also been named to the Medical Advisory Board for Allergan, a pharmaceutical company that makes Botox, Juvederm, Volbella, Vollure, and Voluma. Dr. Craig has also been asked to participate in numerous Juvederm trials.

If you’re looking for a dermal filler professional with numerous certifications and awards, look no further than Accent Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Tupelo, MS.  Schedule your consultation with Dr. Craig today! Call (662) 377-6290 today to learn more.

Can’t Stop Sweating? Here’s Your Answer

Khrom-Blog-ImageCan’t Stop Sweating? Here’s Your Answer

Summer may almost be over – but if you can’t stop sweating no matter what time of year it might be, you might be desperate for answers.

Excessive sweating – also known as hyperhidrosis – is caused by overactive sweat glands that don’t respond normally to your body’s attempts to regulate heat via sweating.  Your body uses sweating as a way to control its internal temperature, which helps keep your organs healthy and happy.  With excessive sweating, your sweat glands are misinterpreting your body’s attempts to regulate your core temperature.

The end result could be excessive sweating in your underarms, hands, feet, and other body parts.  Those who suffer from hyperhidrosis may feel embarrassed by their condition and avoid normal social interactions.

Fortunately, there’s a treatment out there that can help put a stop to excessive sweating – and it isn’t found in a pharmacy or in the anti-perspirant aisle.

The answer can be found at Accent Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Tupelo, Mississippi – and that answer is Botox.

Surprised?  Don’t be.  While Botox is often regarded as one of the most popular anti-wrinkle treatments on the market, the FDA recently approved it as a treatment for excessive sweating.  Botox blocks the abnormal messages being sent to your body’s sweat glands, which effectively turns off the glands’ ability to sweat.

The end result is dry skin that’s free from embarrassing sweat!

Botox is injected directly into the skin of the treatment area.  The procedure is done in-office, and doesn’t take very long to perform.  Your health insurance may even cover the cost of your Botox treatments; be sure to call your policy holder to ask about your coverage.

Clinical studies have shown cessation of sweating from six to seven months after treatment.  Like with any treatment, results may vary.

If you’re interested in putting an end to those embarrassing sweat stains – not to mention save on your dry cleaning bill! – it’s time to schedule a consultation with board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Mark Craig at Accent Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Tupelo, MS today.

The Benefits of Placing the Implant Under the Chest Muscle

Dr-Craig-ImageIf you’re considering undergoing a breast augmentation procedure, you already know you have several important questions to answer. From the type of the implant to the size you’d like your new breasts to be, you may think that you’ve researched ever possible question that could be asked.

However, if you haven’t looked into where the breast implant will be placed – in other words, above the chest muscle or underneath it – then you might not know how implant placement could influence the final results of your breast augmentation.

At Accent Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Tupelo, Mississippi, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Mark Craig specializes in placing breast implants underneath the chest muscle, for very specific reasons.

Why Implants Should Be Placed Under the Muscle

When it comes to getting the most natural results from your breast augmentation, the placement of the implant can make all the difference.  When the implant is placed above the chest muscle, it looks as though the implant is “sitting” on the muscle – and that can create the ball shape that’s a dead giveaway for a breast augmentation.

When the breast implant is placed underneath the chest muscle – also known as the pectoralis – it provides additional soft tissue coverage for the implant. This can be especially important to women that have very little of their own breast tissue. In this regard, Dr. Craig can help make women’s breasts look more like breasts, and not simply an implant sitting on top of the chest.

Additionally, placing the implant underneath the muscle aids in shaping the upper portion of the breast. Through specific implant placement, the soft tissue of the breast can redrape in a more natural position. This gives the upper part of the breast a gentle slope, and not a hard shelf appearance.

How to Find the Right Sunscreen

Summer is officially here – and that means it’s time to enjoy barbeques, pool parties, and concerts underneath cloudless blue skies.  Of course, summertime also means that you’ll need to be more vigilant about your sun care than ever before – otherwise, you might end up getting the kind of sunburns that can later lead to brown spots, hyperpigmentation, discoloration, and even skin cancer.

That’s why, no matter what your plans for the summer might be, it’s important to find the right sunscreen for your skin. But with so many options lining the shelves of your local drugstore, it might seem like a confusing – if not impossible – project.  How do you know which sunscreen you should buy? What ingredients should you look out for?

Wonder no more – because you’ve just found your ultimate guide to finding the right sunscreen for your skin:

  • Most sunscreens contain any combination of six active ingredients, all of which act as filters to block the sun’s UV (ultraviolet) rays from damaging your skin. When you go outside without sun protection on, you have about ten to twenty minutes before your skin starts to burn.  Once a sunburn happens, you’ve already damaged your skin, thus increasing your risk for hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, and even skin cancer.

When shopping for sunscreen, make sure you find a bottle that contains a combination of two of the following:  oxybenzone, avobenzone, octisalate, octocrylene, zinc oxide, and/or titanium dioxide.  If you’re looking for the most natural sunscreen possible – without sacrificing coverage – opt for the last two on this list.

  • Make sure you’re choosing an SPF of 30 or higher. SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor – and it’s an accurate measurement of how strong the sunscreen will be in protecting your skin against UV rays.  The higher the SPF, the more protected your skin will be.  If you opt for anything lower than an SPF of 30, there’s a good chance you’ll still end up with sun-damaged skin.
  • Repeat after us: There’s no such thing as waterproof sunscreen!  Whenever you swim or sweat, you’ll need to reapply your sunscreen.  You should also reapply after every hour spent out in the sun.

If you’re looking for the best sunscreen – one that won’t clog your pores or make you feel sticky – check out our line of sunscreen at Accent Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Tupelo, Mississippi today! Call (662) 377-6290 for more information.
