Say Good-Bye to That Double Chin with Kybella

Say-Good-Bye-to-That-Double-Chin-with-Kybella-at-Accent-Plastic-Surgery-Are you bothered by your double chin?  Does your chin make you look heavier, despite the fact that you’re eating a healthy diet and exercising?  Moderate to severe submental fat – the fat deposits located under your chin – can easily make someone feel self-conscious and frustrated.  What’s more, chin fat can be difficult to target, as many people have to lose a significant amount of weight to see any results.

Ready to say goodbye to your double chin?  Then it’s time to discover the contouring powers of Kybella injections at Accent Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Tupelo, MS.

What is Kybella?

Approved by the FDA in April of 2015, Kybella is a brand-new non-invasive treatment now available at Accent Plastic Surgery.  Kybella injections contain deoxycholic acid, a synthetic form of a natural molecule found within the body.  When injected into the submental fat, deoxycholic acid eats away at the fat cells, which are absorbed by the body over time.  Kybella is innovative in that, when injected properly, all healthy cells and tissues are left untouched by the acid.

Kybella can be customized to treat moderate to severe submental chin fat. Most individuals will need two to four Kybella injections to see results; after the final treatment, results will be permanent, provided you maintain your current weight.

Kybella has one of the highest patient satisfaction rates, since many individuals find their facial profiles transformed by this treatment.

Side effects from Kybella treatments are usually minor; most clients will only experience slight swelling and bruising at the injection site.  Some patients may have some redness or a feeling of firmness in the treatment area.

Experience Kybella at Accent Plastic Surgery

If you’re ready to achieve a smooth, contoured chin – without going through the pain and hassle of invasive liposuction – it’s time to schedule a Kybella consultation with board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Mark Craig at Accent Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Tupelo, MS today. Liposuction Procedures Increase 5% in 2014

Blog-Image-What makes this such a popular procedure?

In 2014 liposuction was the #3 cosmetic procedure in the United States according to the American Society of Plastic Surgery. That is a 5% increase from 2013. With Americans becoming a healthier more informed society, liposuction can be the solution for many people with areas of fat that have been resistant to diet and exercise. Making it even more attractive is the fact that it is an outpatient surgery with patients returning home the same afternoon. Areas recommended for liposuction are abdominal area, thighs, hips, back , chin and neck.

At Accent Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Tupelo, Mississippi (North Mississippi) board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Mark Craig performs liposuction procedures frequently. “We like to remind patients that this is body contouring and not a weight loss procedure. We try to take care of your “problem” areas that you cannot fix with diet and exercise” states Dr. Mark Craig.

Light activities and exercise can be resumed in the first week after the surgery. However, Dr. Craig usually recommends that patients refrain from heavy physical activities (such as running or aerobics) for at least two weeks. Most patients can return to work in a couple of days; those with manual jobs should wait at least a week before resuming work. Patients undergoing more than one area of liposuction should expect recovery to take longer.

Scarring is minimal. Patient should expect some bruising and soreness after surgery.

Discover Liposuction On an Outpatient Basis

Khrom-Blog-ImageWhen you think of liposuction, are you concerned you will endure a long recovery period?

Liposuction at Accent Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery

At Accent Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Tupelo, MS (North Mississippi), board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Mark Craig preforms liposuction as an outpatient surgery. That means patients can contour their trouble spots, all without being admitted to a hospital or spending a significant number of weeks in recovery.

Dr. Craig uses a tumescent fluid, which contains lidocaine and epinephrine to help with bruising and pain control. Patients can expect the same results from traditional liposuction, without encountering the same amount of swelling or bruising.

Light activities and exercise can be resumed in the first week after the operation; at your post-operative appointment, the sutures will be removed.  However, Dr. Craig usually recommends that clients refrain from heavy physical activities (such as running or aerobics) for at least two weeks. Most clients can return to work in a couple of days; those with manual labor jobs should wait at least a week before resuming work.

Patients who undergo liposuction for more than one treatment area should expect recovery to take longer.
