Does Insurance Usually Cover Eyelid Surgery?
It does depend on your insurance company and also the policy you have with your insurance company. If blepharoplasty is an insurance covered benefit for you there are some steps that can help you get approval for this surgery. A blepharoplasty procedure is only covered by your health insurance if your drooping eyelids are impairing your vision.

During you consultation appointment at Accent Plastic Surgery we will refer you to an ophthalmologist or optometrist to request a visual field test. The results from this test will determine if you are a candidate for a blepharoplasty procedure.
It may also be a part of the approval process with your insurance company to have photos sent along with your visual field test. We will make sure that the photos are taken at your consultation appointment. Our insurance clerk will submit all the information necessary for your insurance company to make their decision on the approval of your surgery.
Once you have been approved our office will work with you to find a convenient time to schedule your surgery.
